Bucket List Moments

Our adventures today took us to the Tower of London. The Crown Jewels were AMAZING and I accidentally took this photo before being told that no photos were allowed. Oops!

I wish I could share more pictures so you could see all the huge gems and gold all in one place. There were hundreds and hundreds of pieces big and small.

We visited the resident Ravens, then toured the white tower, and viewed medieval torture devices, suits of armor, and so much more. There was an amazing tiny chapel inside as well.

One of the most amazing things we saw was the carvings in the walls of the Beauchamp Tower that prisoners had left behind. Many were later executed.

We explored the beasts that once made up the royal menagerie and medieval torture devices. We visited the royal bedchamber inside St. Thomas Tower where there is a recreation of the rooms of King Edward the Longshanks, which looks out over the River Thames.

It was a great little spot, but we had seen the Tower Bridge and couldn't wait to cross it!

After a very windy walk across the bridge, we made our way to Borough Market where we looked all the goodies and had some lunch. Then it was time to head back to our hotel, grab our bags, and head south.

We flew the Greece airline, Aegean, where we served some interesting food. The white thing was a salad of some sort. A leaf of lettuce on the bottom, the dollop of white was almost like a creamy cottage cheese. There was a grape in the center and chunks of tomato too. It was like nothing I've ever seen. The dessert was these jellies... I goggled it and the flavor was rose. I just couldn't make myself try them. LOL

We arrived safely and met the driver our AirBNB host had arranged for us. It was so convenient!''

It was fairly late when we arrived but we were thrilled with our accommodations! Both the living room and the master bedroom had these huge windows and sliding doors that looked out over this site... the Acropolis!

We tried the wine provided by our host and just sat here and soaked it all in. Brian was so thrilled he posted this:

So...... We flew into Greece tonight and finally got checked in to our Air B&B. We opened the sliding door to our deck and this AMAZE BALL view of the Acropolis!!!! So, this is the view from both our bedroom and front room window. You’re welcome!! #checkoneoffthebucketlist

We finally turned in for the night, ready for an early start to our first full day in Athens.
